WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED! Last year we received a grant for a new altar of
sacrifice. After several months of discussion and work with Heritage Liturgical
from St. Louis, followed by review and approval from the Parish Council, the altar
design has been finalized. It is marble and like our church, its design is
Romanesque with its central feature being a mosaic of the “Chi Rho” (Greek
letters for “Christ”) symbol for Christ, the same symbol that had been on the front
of the original altar that was removed in 1966. The altar is the most important
element of Catholic worship and should be the most beautiful and central focus in
a church. It should be installed by the first of the year.

WE HAVE BEEN DOUBLY BLESSED! More good news! The parish has
obtained an Allen Organ for our church. Allen Organs are electronic, however,
their sound comes from digitally reproduced recordings of the greatest pipe
organs in Europe and beyond. Our old one still works, and is being given to Good
Counsel Retreat House. Funds for the purchase of the Allen Organ were
provided by a grant from the Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation. This was an
incredible and unique opportunity that we were blessed to take advantage of. For
