All Catholics have a grave obligation to give praise and worship to God by attending Mass. See the bulletin for Mass schedule on page 2., for Wednesday evening and Thursday.
The period from Ascension Thursday through Pentecost Sunday (10 days after Ascension Thursday, and 50 days after Easter) represents the final stretch of the Easter season. Many Catholics prepare for Pentecost by praying the Novena to the Holy Spirit, in which we ask for the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruits of the Holy Spirit. The Novena begins the Friday after Ascension and ends the day before Pentecost Sunday to commemorate the original novena—the nine days that the apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary spent in prayer after Christ’s Ascension and before the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost.
“O Lord Jesus Christ Who, before ascending into heaven did promise to send the Holy Spirit to finish Your work in the souls of Your Apostles and Disciples, deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me that He may perfect in my soul, the work of Your grace and love. Amen”
